2014

  • Unitymedia to enter into a sponsoring partnership with soccer team Borussia Dortmund. This cooperation with the 2013 Champions League finalist underpins the brand values as both parties stand for speed, technique and performance
  • Launched first national TV advertising campaign with messaging focused on network superiority
  • Unitymedia to become the first large provider In Germany to introduce 200 Mbps across its entire upgraded footprint
  • Introducing the Horizon TV triple-play bundles in the KabelBW footprint

 

2013

  • Alignment of the residential and business product portfolios in both footprints, thereby further enhancing speed leadership with a core bundle of 100 Mbps and now offering 150 Mbps to over 12 million homes passed
  • Introduction of Horizon TV in the Unitymedia footprint, a new family of media products that allows customers to view and share all of their favorite content across the TV, computer, tablet and smartphone

 

2012

  • Kabel BW was folded into Unitymedia credit pool and became Unitymedia KabelBW
  • Relaunched look and feel of Unitymedia and Kabel BW brands and enhanced product portfolio, offering up to 150 Mbps
  • Unitymedia KabelBW continues to be the fastest growing broadband provider in Germany surpassing the threshold of 2 million broadband internet and telephony subscribers

2011

  • In Q3 2011 Unitymedia became no. 1 broadband provider in terms of broadband internet net additions for the first time - nationwide
  • Surpassed threshold of 1 million broadband internet and telephony subscribers, respectively

 

2010

  • Closing of the Liberty Global transaction - Unitymedia now part of the Liberty Global family, the leading international cable operator
  • Acceleration of EuroDOCSIS 3.0 roll-out in footprint, demonstrating speed leadership with 128 Mbps
  • Launch of HD and 2-way HD/DVR in May and October, respectively
  • Discontinuation of arenaSAT platform on September 30
  • Relaunched successful "DSL switcher campaign"

  • Launch of new genre-based Digital TV Pay structure
  • First Euro DOCSIS 3.0 roll-out with 120 Mbps in selected cities
